Peter Pan Ballet

Trey and I took Savannah, Jack, Julia, Meg and Davis to see the Birmingham Ballet perform Peter Pan on Saturday, February 27. I was concerned that the boys would not like a ballet but they loved it. I think because they knew the story and were able to follow along. Before the ballet we took the kids to eat at Sumo. The kids were so well behaved and everyone had a great time.

New Ride!

I am not a minivan mom anymore! I loved, loved my minivan, but it was time for a change. My minivan was in need of just about everything new so it was time for a new (well new to me) ride!

Happy 9th Birthday, Savannah!

Savannah turned 9 on February 13th. I cannot believe she is 9. It seems like yesterday we were just getting adjusted to having a baby. She is now growing into a wonderful young lady. This year for her birthday we took her and a few of her friends to Birmingham to eat lunch at Olive Garden and for manicures and pedicures at Sweet and Sassy. She and her friends had a great time!

Valentine's Day

Friday, February 12th the kids had Valentine's Parties at school. Jack was very excited to take his "best friend Kalyn" her special Valentine. He went with Trey to the flower shop and had to get Kalyn a Valentine. He bought her a stuffed dog that said "be Mine." He did clarify many times that she is not his girlfriend, but his best friend. She is definitely someone who Jack thinks a lot of. Also on Friday, Jack wore a cute t-shirt that said "all the women love me", but his daddy did not take his picture. Trey did get pictures of Jack at his party but not with the shirt on. Savannah and Julia also had Valentine attire, but Jack's was the cutest.

Trey got me a dozen pick roses. They are beautiful!

Date Night with John Mayer

Ok so I really didn't have a date with John Mayer, but I did go on a date with my wonderful husband to see John Mayer in concert. He was absolutely wonderful. Not only does he look like a dreamboat, he can sing like a bird and can play the guitar like everything. The opening act was Michael Franti and he was just as good. It was an absolutely a wonderful night.

We also went to dinner at the Melting Pot. It was different. The best part of the meal was the dessert of a ying-yang chocolate pot (milk chocolate and white chocolate) with cake, fruit, marshmellows, and rice krispie treats! I wish I had another one of those right now! I don't know what I was thinking, I didn't take my camera into dinner. Very weird for me. I always have a camera with me.

Tuesday night was wonderful, but waking up Wednesday with the stomach virus was not wonderful. I felt like I had been ran over by a Mack truck Wednesday and the majority of the day Thursday. I did make it to work Thursday, but most of my students probably wished I would have stayed at home another day. Mrs. Williamson was not her normal happy self today!

Happy Birthday Mama Tommie!

Most of you who have known me for anytime at all know that I have the most wonderful grandmother in the world. Tuesday, February 9 Mama Tommie turned 80 years old. I hope and pray when I am 80 I will be half as active as she is. Mama Tommie baby sits Julia on Tuesdays, Blaine on Wednesdays, hair appointments on Thursday, shopping whenever Dorothy wants to go, dates with JT on Friday and Saturday nights and never misses a church services. She is absolutely one of the most wonderful women in the world. She raised a wonderful daughter, my mother, who is following in the footsteps that Mama Tommie has laid before her. I hope one day my children can look at me and say the same about me. They both are two of the most Christ filled women you will ever meet.

My mother and Julia took Mama Tommie and Aunt Dorothy out for lunch on Tuesday. Doesn't she look wonderful? The photography is from none other than my baby Julia. When Savannah ad Jack got out of school, they went to Mama Tommie's house for birthday cake. I hope she had a wonderful birthday!

Who Dat!

The New Orleans Saints won Super Bowl 44!! Jack and Trey were so excited. Although, Trey was disappointed to find out this morning that he will not be able to attend the victory parade in New Orleans on Tuesday because we have tickets to a concert! Oh well, he will survive because he is going to Mardi Gras this weekend! It is a great time to be part of the Who Dat Nation!

Julia will get to continue singing the Super Bowl Song for at least a year. It is precious to hear her singing, "Black and Gold for the Super Bowl! Black and Gold for the Super Bowl! Who Dat, Who Dat, Who Dat saying they gonna beat those Saints?!" Not the Colts this time!

Last Basketball Game

Saturday, February 6th was Jack's last basketball game of the season. He has not played well this season, but of course he started to play well in the final game. Jack had numerous rebounds, 2 steals and 4 points. He played great! Thank goodness because I decided to not go on a girl's trip with my best friends from college.

Blake Ballard's Birthday Party

Blake is 4! Julia's friend Blake had a cowboy birthday party. She had a great time.

Baby Boy!

Well since I am never, ever going to have another baby, I get to be excited about friends having babies. Today I am very excited to announce that one of my bestest friends, Julie Moore, is having a baby BOY! He is actually due on Jack's birthday! Wouldn't that be cool if he would actually be born on that day! We are so excited to meet the new baby this summer!
