First Day of School

I still get butterflies in my stomach on the first day of school each year.  I guess the unknowing of what the new year holds for me, my birth children and my kids at school.  This year is a bitter sweet year for my kids at school.  A group of kids that I am so dearly attached to will be graduating.  I'm very excited for their futures, but I don't want them to go out in the real world just yet.  I know I am preparing tem for what they need, but I don't want to give them up.

Savannah is in 6th grade this year.  She thinks she is a senior instead of a 6th grader.  She is so grown and independent. I hope she has a great year and cherishes these last years of being a child.
Jack is in the 4th grade.  So sad that this is the last year that we drop him off at Winfield Elementary School since he goes to the Middle School next year.  I pray that he has a great year just like he did last year.

Oh, and my baby girl is in 1st grade this year.  I hope she continues to grow and love learning as much as she did last year.

My precious babies I hope you all have the best year yet.  I love you so much!

Back to School Open House

Back to school open house is a big deal!  The kids get to find out who their teachers and we get to see their classrooms for the year.

Savannah is going to be in 6th grade.  I cannot believe she ould possibly be old enough to be in 6th grade.  She has Mrs. Langley for her homeroom teacher.  She has a few friends with her so she was excited about that.  She was most excited about getting a top locker again this year.

Jack is going to be in 4th grade this year.  This will be his last year at the elementary school and his first year to change classes for all subjects.  He is very excited about this!  His friends are all spread out in the different homerooms, but his friend Collin is with him for every subject.  Jack's homeroom teacher is Mrs. Seals.  We love her already because she is a Mississipp State fan!

Julia is going to be in the 1st grade.  I cannot believe my baby is this big!  She has Mrs. Wood for her teacher this year.  We are very excited about her teacher.  Julia is excited that she is going to be in class with her friend Paige although she is going to miss Allison so much!

We are hoping this is the last time these two are out in the hall with Mr. Thomley.

Day at the Lake

We had a fun day at the lake with the Bowens!  The kids had a great time tubing, learning to ski, and jumping off the rock.  It was a great day to relax and spend time with family!

Happy 10th Birthday, Jack!

We had Jack's birthday a little late this year.  We have been so busy with baseball and vacation we just couldn't get it in before August.  Jack and Andrew had their party together again this year.  We had a swim party and a huge water slide for the boys at Karla's new house.  Everyone had a great time being together for a fun evening before school begins.

The Inn at Blue Mountain Beach 2012

Where do I even begin to explain how much we love The Inn at Blue Mountain Beach?  It is absolutely heaven on earth.  A very isolated condo complex with only 48 units.  We love it there.  Actually we love it so much that we booked our week for next summer the first day we got there this year.

This year we stayed in a bottom floor condo that walked directly onto the pool deck.  It was so convenient and easy access to the beach everyday.  We never had to take our beach toys and chairs into the condo.

We enjoyed hanging out of the beach everyday.  We made a few new friends with a family from St. Louis.  We are all planning to be at the beach again the same time next year. They have a son that is close to Jack's age and the two of them were stuck together like glue from sun up to sun down each day.

Brian and Erin came down on Wednesday and stayed with us until Saturday when we had to check out.  They too are planning to go again with us next year and we will have a new member with us next year, Baby Girl Weeks!

We ate out a few times.  We had dinner at Angelina's, The Red Bar, Louis Louis and Hurricane Oyster Bar.  We also had lunch at the Red Bar on a stormy day.  We love The Red Bar for lunch, but prefer Louis Louis for dinner!
