New Orleans

We went to New Orleans for a little weekend away for Memorial Day Weekend.  We mixed a little work with pleasure as Trey had to make a visit to one of his big customers.

We love New Orleans.  The kids love the food and the different type of city New Orleans is.  We always have to visit Magazine Street to the girls favorite store Orient Expressed.  Magazine Street is so quaint with all the cute little shops and beautiful trees. We also went to a great snow ball place for a little snow ball on a hot afternoon.  They were served in Chinesse food take out boxes.  So cute!

We also ate at a few of our favorite places and went to a few new places as well.  We love po boys from a great little shop on Veteran's Boulevard.  We also love the Gumbo Shop and Cafe Du' Monde.  We had dinner at a new place this trip as well at Drago's.  Great food!

We did a swamp tour on this trip.  It was really fun as well as educational for the kids.  They loved seeing the alligators.

Last T-Ball Game & Party

Julia enjoyed playing tball this year.  I'm not sure we see a future SEC softball player, but she had fun.

We had the end of year party the following week with trophies and cake.  It was a fun way to end the season.

Indonesia

Trey went on a business trip in May to Indonesia.  It was a very trying trip because of the time difference between us and his lack of phone coverage.  He had a very long flight, but a great layover in Bali.  His stay in Bali was really the only plus to this trip because once he got to the mine sight, the plush hotel was over.

Pictures from the Bali Hyatt.

From the plush resort in Bali, to this little room.

Trey and his guide at the mine.

Ready for the flight back to the airport off the mountain.

Dance Recital & Baseball

The girls had their dance recital the same weekend as a huge tournament Jack was playing baseball in Cullman. Trey took Jack and I had the girls. The girls had practice the morning of the dance recital so we were in Jasper most of the day. Both of the girls did great in the recital and looked absolutely beautiful.

After the dance recital we headed to Cullman to get read for more baseball with Jack.  He had a great tournament!  We won all the pool play games and won our first game in bracket play, but got beat in the semi-final game.  We fininshed 3rd in the NIT Tournament.  I am so proud of these boys and all the hard work they are putting in this summer.

Marion County Tournament

Savannah's softball team played in the Marion County Tournament last weekend.  They played really well after the first game on Friday night.  We played the other Winfield team (who we have beaten twice already) and got beat.  We played three games Saturday nonstop and won all three games which placed the girls back in the Championship game against the other Winfield team.  The game ended because of rain and both first and second place trophies came back to Winfield.  So proud of all the Winfield girls.  GO PIRATES!!

The Big Reveal

Julia's Kindergarten teacher is having a baby.  Today they had a big reveal party.  Julia was so excited about going to school to see what Mrs. Smith's baby is going to be a boy or girl.  (Actually Julia already knew because she was peaking on my Facebook last night.)

A Little Crush

Julia has a little, ok BIG, crush on a high school boy.  He is a very sweet young man who gives her as much attention as she wants.  Julia loves Terran and has enjoyed watching him play baseball this season.  She was always eager to run his Gatorade down to him between innings for his mom.  Julia was devastated when the boys lost last weekend.

Julia was so excited when Terran came to her t-ball game last week.  I didn't get a picture because my phone and my camera both had dead batteries.  I love that we have great teenagers who are so loving and kind to the little ones who look up to them so much.
