Not the way we wanted to end....

last inning of the game,
2 outs,
down by 1 run,
runner on 3rd base,
your up to bat,
the clean up batter,
batting today with a single and a double in the books,
ground out to the short stop,
lots of stomps
and kicking of the dirt,
a slow walk back
to the 3rd base dugout!

Not the way Jack wanted to end the tournament this weekend, but what a fabulous weekend he had playing the sport he loves.  Jack is so hard on himself and no one is a bigger critic of his baseball skills than himself.  He was down in the dumps for the ride home, but he is much better now and ready for baseball lessons this afternoon.  I love my little slugger!  Oh, how I hate to see him down!  We will get them next time was his motto this morning!

Baseball is so much like the game of life.  We are given chances and we have to take risks.  Sometimes those chances and risks lead us to success and sometimes they lead us to failure.  What matters is what we learn and take from those experiences!  So as we move on from this learning experience let us not forget what we learned!

Dance Recital

Dance recital was not as chaotic this year with Savannah only performing for gymnastics and Julia only had one costume change!  Dance recitals are not my favorite because they are so long and drawn out.  I love seeing my girls on stage, but really hate sitting through all the other performances.

Addelyn Brooke Poole

My sweet baby cousin had a baby this week.  How weird is it that she is old enough to be married and have a family of her own?  Addelyn is a doll.  She looks so much like her mommy!  My Uncle Benny, Addelyn's granddaddy, thinks Addelyn looks like Julia.

The girls and I went to Tuscaloosa last night to see the sweet baby.  They were over joyed getting to hold and love on her.

Field Day 2013

Field Day is always a fun day for the kids.  They get to play outside and do exciting games all day with their friends.  I do think one of their favorite things on field day is they get to check out early with Trey and he takes them to lunch.

Savannah 6th Grade Awards Day

Savannah had a great 6th grade year.  She was awarded with three awards at Awards Day.  I believe she is ready to move on to a fun 7th grade year!

Spring Piano Recital

Spring Piano Recital was very sad this year.  This was our last piano recital for a while.  Mrs. Jennifer is taking a break from piano lessons for a few years while she goes back to college.  Although I am very happy for Jennifer and excited for her to continue her dream to be an elementary school teacher, I am very sad that she is not teaching my babies piano lessons for a few years.  Savannah and Julia both did a great job this year.  I just pray we don't lose all of our piano skills while we are on a break from piano lessons.

6th Grade Dance

Winfield tradition is for the parents to host a dance for the students when they finish 6th grade.
Savannah's class had a great time at the dance and
then ventured over to the Junkin's house for a swimming party.
