Tooth Fairy Visit

Julia pulled her first tooth yesterday! It was very bitter sweet for me, but super exciting for her. It is just another sign that my baby is growing up too fast! I'm really happy that we were able to pull it though because she has another tooth growing behind it already. The tooth fairy brought a little more that money for Julia though, she dropped off the stomach virus as well! I hope it doesn't last very long.

MSU Father and Son Baseball Camp 2012

Trey and Jack went to baseball camp at MSU last weekend. They had a great time spending time together and learning a little more about baseball! It was also a fun time for the boys to spend with great friends Billy, Andrew and Austin Stovall. Also an excellent way to show Bama fans what a great place MSU is and the awesome programs State offers!

Hunger Games

I don't know why but I am always one of the last people to start a series of books. I always try to think they are all just a bunch of hype and there is no way they can really be that good. Well, I have been proven wrong once again. I started the first book of the Hunger Games last Wednesday morning and finished it late Wednesday night. I could not put it down! Quickly Thursday morning I downloaded the second book and once again could not put it down and finished it late Thursday night. I have downloaded the third book and the first two chapters are just as good, but I have made myself not read all day long. I'm not for sure I can do this much longer because I have to know what is going to happen. If you have not read the Hunger Games trilogy, it is a must for avid readers!

100th Day of School

Today is the 100th Day of School at Winfield Elementary! Julia and Jack were super excited about today because they got to wear hats. Of course I was running late this morning and did not get a picture! Julia was wearing her Braves hat and Jack was wearing his Mississippi State hat autographed by the the 49ers running back and former MSU running back, Anthony Dixon!

It is also 65 days until we head to my favorite place in the world, Disney World!

Piano Lessons

Julia began piano lessons today and she is so excited! We had a little excitement when we went to pick Savannah up from her lesson. Julia had the money to pay Mrs. Jennifer when she got out of the car, well she did not make it inside with the money. I looked all over Jennifer's yard as did Jennifer. Neither one of us found it. I was so upset with Julia and myself. Later in the night Jennifer called to tell me that her husband found the money in the ditch. I was so excited! Julia practices everyday. We have to keep her and Savannah from hurting each other fighting over the piano!

I have had computer issues and have gotten completely overwhelmed with where I left off and what needs to be blogged! I am going to try to get caught up this weekend between the fifty thousand loads of clothes I have to get completed as well! One day I will be caught up!

On a lighter note, it is only 80 days until we are in DISNEY WORLD! I am so excited. Probably as excited or more excited about going than the kids are! It is my favorite place in the world behind the beach! I could go to Disney every year and never get tired of it!

Music City Bowl

As a family we all got tickets to ICE and the Music City Bowl to see our Bulldawgs play! We had a great time in Nashville. We headed to Nashville early Thursday morning so we could go through the ICE exhibit at the Opryland Hotel. It was really cool, but the kids enjoyed the the ice slides. We spent most of the day Thursday with one of my majorette friends and her family. It was really good to see her and spend time getting to know her family.

Friday we geared up in our MSU clothing and headed downtown for all of the bowl activities. We met up with Amy, Chris, Amanda, Darren and Isabella for the ballgame and dinner. We had such a good time with everyone and to top it off the Dawgs won!

Christmas 2011

Santa was good to the kids this year! Jack and Julia each got an I-pod touch and Savannah got a new DSi XL. Just what they wanted. They all got gift cards for Disney and I-tunes. They got lots of other gifts. They are a little spoiled!

After the kids opened their gifts, we all had to hurry and get ready for church. Grandma and Granddaddy stopped by to see what the kids got for Christmas on their way home. After church we headed over to mom and dad's house for Christmas with the family. It was good to spend time with Brian and Erin.

We had a great Christmas Eve. We started the morning off by going to breakfast with Caroline. We miss her so much, but are so proud of her accomplishments at Auburn. Oh how we wish Auburn was a little closer!

After breakfast we headed to Amory for Christmas with Trey's parents and his sister's family. The kids got a lot of good gifts and had a great time playing with Noah. I didn't get as many pictures as I usually do. I'm not for sure why!

After we got home from Kelly's the kids were excited about leaving food for Santa's reindeer and leaving cookies out for Santa. I sure hope Santa stops by our house!

We had a great time with friends at the MSU vs Bama game this year. It was fun to enjoy the day with State and Bama friends. The game did not end like we would have liked it to, but we still had a great time.

Finally a game on a Saturday where we can spend the day under the tents on campus! I love tailgating almost as much as the games. I love seeing friends from college days, the smells of all the foods and the sounds of kids playing and people laughing. I love Mississippi State! I love being on campus. I would love to live in Starkvegas!

We were on campus no more that 10 minutes and Jack was already invited in a game of football. He spent the majority of the day playing ball. We had to make him sit down to eat.

Jack's 3rd grade play was at the end of September. It was all about what the kids will do when they grow up. Jack's part was about being a professional athlete. It was a cute play. I was super proud of how well they did singing.

Ten Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today life in the United States ceased to exist the way it did once before. The world stopped turning for a day and all we could do was stare at the awful events unfolding on the televisions before our eyes. I remember I had taken a student to the office and just happend to walk by a tv and saw the aftermath of the first plane in the World Trade Center. I was in shock hearing the reports and then the second plane entered the television frame and slammed into the 2nd tower. I can remember the tears flowing down my face and everyone around me. All I wanted to do was continue to stare at the television, but I knew I had a classroom full of students I had to comfort. How could I comfort kids when I didn't know how to wrap my mind around what was going on myself?

Today I sit here watching all the news coverage of the 10 year anniversary and it feels like it happened yesterday. My children now have the same questions my students did on that day. I answer them as honestly as I can. My two oldest understand evil and have accepted Chrsit as their Lord and Savior. My baby girl cries as she sees the children left alone with a parent missing. She cries as the firefighters pull another body out of the wreckage. She cries as she sees the people jump from the top of the World Trade Center. She ask questions of why this happened, why are people mean to us, why could everyone not get out alive. I don't want them to live in fear, but I want them to know what has happened in our country. I want them to see the heroes of that day. I want them to know that Christ is Lord of all and He will end evil one day with His mightly right hand.

Let us never forget September 11, 2001, but we must move forward with a new sight. A new sight of the mission God has laid out for us. A mission to tell the world of His love and salvation. A mission of helping our neighbors. A mission of knowing we never walk alone. A mission of knowing if this happened to the very building I am sitting in right now, I know my eternity is in heaven.

Julia's First Soccer Game

Julia had her first soccer game tonight. She did a great job and had lots of fun. The first time she was in she played goalie. She actually dove to stop a ball from going into the goal! I was excited to see her actually playing. Goalie is her favorite position because she doesn't have to run when she plays goalie. Her team won 3-1!

We are going to Disney in 200 Days! I can't wait! We get to book our meals in 20 days! I have it all scheduled out right now and I pray that we get everything we want. We are going during a time that has free dining, but we upgraded to deluxe dining. We are getting to do a great mix of character meals and non-character table service meals. Maroon Thursday

This time of year is my absolute favorite. The weather is getting a little cooler, the kids are in school, I am back at work, and it is FOOTBALL SEASON! I love football! I think it comes from attending every high school football game my 4 years in high school since I was a majorette, attending every Mississippi State University home football game and a few away games during my 4 years in college since I was a majorette there as well and to top it off my little brother was a wonderful football player and I spent many evenings watching his games, game replays on tv and playing catch with him in the yard. I just love football. My husband loves football, my oldest daughter loves football, my son loves football and even my baby girl loves football! We just can't get enough of it especially MSU FOOTBALL!

This season started with a road game on a Thursday night! WHY? Beats the heck out of me. I was dieing to be at the game last Thursday night, but couldn't justify taking off on the Friday before Labor Day to attend a non-conference game! The kids and I dressed in our best Maroon and White on Thursday for school expecting a great victory from the Bulldogs.

And boy did they not let us down. We started off a little shakey, but quickly got it together for a very impressive win of 59-14! I am still super excited about this win!

I cannot wait for our first home game. Yes, on another Thursday night! We play LSU on September 15th. I cannot wait to be in Davis Wade Stadium. To hear the rumble of the crowd, the cheers from the cheerleaders, the fight song from the Famous Maroon Band, the wonderful sound of cowbells ringing. I can't wait to see MSU spelled out on the field, the smoke in front of the M-Club, the team running onto the field and the team doing the Dog Pound Rock before taking the field. I know this is going to be the best season yet!

Jack's baseball team was recognized at the City Council Meeting in August for all their accomplishments this summer. The team was the first team out of Winfield to make it to the Dixie Youth State Tournament. Everyone is so proud of them!

Rush Week

Our sweet Caroline went through sorority rush this past week at Auburn. I don't know how I will survive when my girls go through rush. It was a roller coaster ride just talking with Caroline every morning and afternoon about her experience. She was super excited about every adventure and had upsets and disappointments, but in the end she is super excited. No she is not my Zeta sister, but is a pledge of a great sorority, Delta Gamma!

Congrats Caroline! I am so proud of you and your choice! You will never forget your sorority sisters and the many memories you are about to make! We love you so much!

How can it be that I have a middle schooler, a 3rd grader and a KINDERGARTENER? It does not seem like these babies are this old! How did this happen?!

The kids all had a great first day of school. They have great teachers and we are so excited about that! Savannah has Mrs. Garner for her homeroom teacher, but changes classes for all of her academic classes. Savannah is super excited because she has our great friend Karla Stovall for reading. Jack has Mrs. Leathers for his homeroom teacher. He changes classes for reading and he has Mrs. Lindsey. Both are great teachers! Julia has Mrs. Smith for her teacher. This is one of the teachers I had hoped Julia would have this year and Julia was so excited to get her for a teacher! I pray that the rest of the year goes as well as the first week of school.

While we were at Panama City Beach our sweet nephew Davis accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. What a joyous occassion! We were so proud of him as we all have been praying that he would make this decision! He was baptized the next Sunday morning.

Panama City Beach 2011

Trey had a business trip to Panama City Beach the first week of August and we decided to tag along. We had a fun time hanging out on the beach and going to the water park with the Stovalls that were in town for vacation. we had a great time, but will not be venturing to PCB for vacation anytime soon.

We had a great trip to the beach this year the last week of July. We still went to the Destin area, but stayed at Blue Mountain Beach on 30A. It was great. We loved it so much that we are already booked for next summer! Trey's parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew went with us. I miss the beach so much and cannot wait to go back!

My Sweet Jack

Where do I begin to explain to the world how special this summer has been to my family. Jack has had a wonderful opportunity to play on the Winfield 8U All Star Team. What an honor to have been choosen by his peers and the coaches! Jack has played excellent ball all summer. As I posted earlier his team placed runners up in both the Sub-District and District Tournament. In the State Tournament, his team finished in the final four in the State! What a great accomplishment!! This is the only team from Winfield to make it to the State Tournament and to finish this high in the rankings was highly impressive.

I will say this has been one of the best summers of my life. We have traveled all over North Alabama and spent numerous hours at the ball park in Winfield, but I would not change a thing about it if I could. I wouldn't even change the losses. Jack has learned so many life lessons from this experience. He has learned he can depend on his teammates and that there is always someone standing behind him for support. He has learned to trust adults other than his family. Trey and I have learned that we have friends in Winfield. We have laughed and cried with our boys! We have cheered and encouraged each other. This is a summer we will never forget and I am so proud of this team, especially my sweet Jack!

Jack's actual birthday is June 21st, but we had to wait a little while to have a party because we were playing baseball. Jack had his party on July 7th at the Guin Waterpark with one of his best friends, Andrew Stovall. The kids had a great time playing in the pool and going down the waterslide.

I cannot believe my baby boy is 9 years old. He is the sweetest little boy around. I love that he still wants to sit in my lap and love on me. He tells me and his dad numerous times a day that he loves us. He is such a joy to be around. We are so proud of him and all of his accomplishments. He is a smart little boy and a great athlete. But more than that he is a great person. He loves his friends with all of his heart and prays for them daily. He worries about them all the time and thinks of others before himself. I am so proud of him and so lucky that God has loaned him to me and Trey. I cannot wait to see what this year holds for him.

All Stars 2011

These sweet little boys have taken over my summer. Not only are they precious, they are a great ball team. The team is composed of Jack's best friends so he is having a blast playing ball and spending a ton to time with them this summer. Minus Jack and his friend Rush this is the smallest group of baseball players playing in any of the tournaments, but they can play ball. It is their method of surprise against other teams. Lots of teams who have not played us see our boys and think they have the games won. Jack and his team are undefeated against every team except Haleyville. We just can't seem to beat them. We have placed second in both Subdistrict and District 11 Tournament. The boys will begin the State of Alabama Tournament on July 15.

Since School Has Been Out, We Have...

Life has been busy since we got out of school for the summer. Why is it that the most relaxing time of the year is so jam packed with activities? We began the summer with a pool party for Jack's baseball league.

Then we moved onto Vacation Bible School. I am so glad we have it early in the summer so that it is over and I don't have to think about it all summer.

We have also been playing lots of baseball, but that will be a post of its own.

TENURED

Last night was the best Fayette County Board of Education meeting ever (well, other than the meeting when they hired me to begin with)! I was rehired which made me be tenured! I am so excited. I love Fayette County High School and had no idea what I would do if I didn't get rehired. The budget in Alabama is super crazy this year, especially with education so I was worried for the first time. Now I can enjoy summer and be relaxed for a return to school in August!

Dismals Canyon

Saturday Jack played in his final regular season basebal game. We lost, but don't you worry we have a summer full of baseball to play. After the game we went to Dismals Canyon to explore around. I cannot believe I lived in this area my entire life (well minus a few when Trey and I lived off exploring the country) and never went to this place. It was awesome and the kids loved it! We did the day and night tour. If you go you must do the night tour. The little worms that glow on the canyon walls are amazing. God's splendor is displayed in every way at this place. It is absolutely amazing.

Lordy, Lordy Look Who is 40

We celebrated Trey's 40th birthday yesterday. I had to work most of the day, but Trey and the kids spent the day going to the bakery and swimming. My mom baked Trey a cake that he enjoyed with our kids and Rhonda's kids around the pool at Mother's house.

We went to Columbus to Huck's Place for dinner. It was a neat place in downtown Columbus that also had great food. I think we will be going back again.

After dinner I used the great backdrops around Columbus to get some pictures for the kids.

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

This Saturday was one of those days where I wish I could be have in two places at once. The girls had their dance recital and Jack was playing in a baseball tournament in Starkville. The boys went to Starkville for a long day of baseball. Trey reported that Jack played well, but the were not able to pull out a win.

The girls did great in their recital this year. Savannah had to do four numbers: three dances and one gymnastics routine. Julia had two numbers: dance and gymnastics. They both did absolutely wonderful and I was so proud of them both.

Sweet Savannah you are graduating from elementary school tonight. I cannot believe howyou have grown. I love getting to see what a wonderful young lady you are growing into. You are a very compassionate, sweet girl.

You are your brother's biggest cheerleader on the baseball field and during his piano recital. During the recital you looked as if you would like to go play the piece with him. I love that you will play catch with him in the back yard.

You love your little sister with your whole heart. You love teaching her new things and even play dolls with her. I love watching you two grow together and how you both love life.

Field Trip to McWane Center

Yesterday we went to the McWane Center for Jack's 2nd grade field trip. He had a great time with all the activities at the museum. We also watched the IMAX movie Tornado Alley. It was a cool movie. Jack was super excited that some of his friends were able to ride home with him.

Spring Piano Recital

Sunday, May 15th Savannah and Jack had their spring piano recital. They both did a wonderful job. It was a little bitter sweet because Jack has decided that he is not going to take piano anymore. Yesterday confirmed our belief that we would all have glasses or contacts soon. Julia went to the eye doctor yesterday after failing her vision screening for kindergarten. She will soon have a new pair of glasses to wear. She is excited about getting her glasses.

Last night Julia and I met some girlfriends from high school for dinner. It was great to see Merry who lives in Canada now. We had great adult conversation and a wonderful Mexican dinner. Julia was an angel. She sat quietly and drew in her notebook. I was so proud of her and her wonderful behavior.

Jack is on a travel ball baseball team this year. We are so excited that is on such an awesome team with great kids. They played in their first tournament on Saturday and swept the tournament with two huge wins. Jack had some great plays at third and some awesome hits. Still not consistent on the hard hits to the fence but the ball is always in play advancing runners. We are so proud of Jack and cannot wait to see all his talent in the future.

Giving Back

I want my kids to grow up knowing to share what they have and to give to special causes in the world. They all know we take offering to church every Sunday, but I really want them to give to people less fortunate than us. Last week was a great opportunity for us to teach the kids this lesson a little more to our children. The big kids school was taking up non-perishable items for the tornado victims. We loaded up the car with water and had the kids drop it off. They were so excited about giving and are wanting to do more now. If I would let Jack, he would take off to Hackleburg and start cleaning up the rubble. I love that they are thinking about others.

After all the bad new we have had over the last few days, it was so exciting to see the news last night that Osama Bin Laden is DEAD! It is so exciting to see that the person behind all the events of September 11, 2001 is getting the justice he deserves now.

Praise You in This Storm

As I sit watching the news today, I can only think of the Casting Crowns song Praise You In This Storm. Yesterday was nothing less than a horrible day in Alabama history. We spent most of the day in the basement of our church, but we were blessed. Not a single tornado that was spotted around Winfield touched down in our precious town, but not every town around here can say this. The small towns of Pea Ridge, Berry, Phil Campbell, and Hackelburg are demolished. Larger cities such as Cullman, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham had extensive damage as well. I thank God that His hand was upon us yesterday and we were all safe and we still have all of our belongings. I praise God through this storm that we will see His hand in all this damage and only His glory will come out of this.

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year. Our Easter festivities started on Tuesday for Julia's Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Party at school. Julia had a great time visiting with the Easter Bunny, eating party food and hunting eggs, until she stepped in an ant bed. Trey had to get all the ants off of her without spilling her eggs and candy out of the basket. She survived but was ready for the hunt to be over once the ants were off of her feet.

On Saturday we took the kids to Mr. Tim's to get our yearly Easter pictures made with the live bunnies. The girls love the bunnies, but Jack still does not think they are great. Julia had one bunny laying in her lap like a little baby. She loved it. She would love for one to come home with us, but I am not so sure of that.

On Easter Day, Jack woke us up early to see what the Easter Bunny brought them. They were not disappointed in the baskets this year. The girls got candy, lip gloss and a sun dress. Jack got candy, sunglasses and a new Bass Gloves shirt. After laying around the house and then finally getting dressed, we headed to church. After church we went to Mom and Dad's for a great family lunch. The kids hunted Easter Eggs once and then hit the pool for the first time this summer. I didn't swim because it is still very cool for me, but the kids said it was great.

We had the Lord's Supper tonight at church. It was special moment because it was Jack's first time to take it. We had a great Easter!

Kindergarten Registration

Julia is now registered for Kindergarten. I cannot believe she will be going to school in the fall. She was so excited about going to "big school". She actually thought she would be going to big school the next day and was very upset when we told her she would have to wait until August to go to school. Julia is so ready for Kindergarten. I just hope Kindergarten is ready for her.

Midnight Masquerade

Yeah the Prom is over for 2011!! I can now breathe and do a little more than worry about everything going well. The Prom was beautiful and the Junior class really surprised me with how hard they all worked. I could not have gotten it all done without them and the other Junior sponsors. I am really blessed to work with such wonderful people and have such great students.

She Can Ride on 2 Wheels

Julia learned how to ride her bike without training wheels while she was at Trey's mom and dad's for spring break. I cannot believe that she is big enough to ride without training wheels. Just another one of those obstacles that we have crossed showing that she is a big girl.

Super Bulldog Weekend

We spent the weekend in Starkville this weekend for Super Bulldog Weekend. Friday night we went to the MSU vs. Florida baseball game and got to see MSU beat #4 ranked Florida. We ran into Bully at the ballgame! The kids are always excited to see Bully walking around. After the game, we had a delicious dinner at Little Dooey's! Yummy, yummy!

Saturday we spent the day on campus. We started the day off with a little MSU baseball that was not up to MSU baseball standards. The Dawgs lost Saturday 18-0. I cringe as I write this. After about 3 innings we could not stand to watch the game anymore so we went for lunch at Oby's. Another wonderful Starkville meal. We headed back to campus to play in the Junction before the Maroon/White game. The kids got some wonderful MSU ice cream and then headed over to the Fanfair. Savannah and Julia enjoyed playing in the jumpers and Jack and Trey stood in lite to get autographs of former MSU players that are playing in the NFL now. Jack was excited to get lots of autographs on his new football. We headed over to the stadium to watch the game. It was great seeing a Winfield boy, Zack Townley, dressed in Maroon & White playing for the Dawgs.

We had a great time and cannot wait for football season to begin!

Training Update!

As I posted earlier, Trey and I are training to run a half marathon March of 2012. We are finished with week one of training and we are still functioning. I feel great running, ok maybe jogging. But I am actually doing in and I don't dread going everyday. We found out earlier this week that some other friends of ours are wanting to train with us so we are going to re-do week one. Not because we are not ready to move on, but so we can all be on the same training week together. We are running 10 minutes straight for week one. That amounts to about a mile for me. I am so proud of myself because I think the last time I ran/jogged a mile was in the 7th grade. I have never been a runner! As I said before I am determined to do this! I'll keep updating so I have it documented for myself!

I also got some new running shoes last weekend. They are great, but very bright! My feet never get sore while I am running in them, so I guess my INVESTMENT was a good one. I never thought I would spend as much on a pair of tennis shoes as I did these, but wow they were worth the money! I'll have to post a picture of them later. I can't find one on the internet like them.

Huff and Puff and Blow My 5 Candles Out

Julia celebrated her 5th birthday with a 3 little pigs birthday party. She had lots of friends and family show up to celebrate with her. They spent the afternoon jumping in the jumping house and running around in the beautiful Sunday afternoon. Mandi made her a beautiful cake that tasted wonderful as well. I still cannot believe my baby is five years old.

Opening Day 2011

Baseball season is in full effect at our house now and we love it! Jack is on our good friend Billy Stovall's team. He is already learning a lot more about becoming a better baseball player. Jack is playing 1st base this year and is batting clean up. I hope his batting lessons from last year will pay off for his team this year. Jack is doing a super job. We are so proud of him and cannot wait to see what this season holds. We started the season off great with a win of Sulligent.

I cannot believe my sweet little baby has grown up so fast. It is unbelievable that she could possibly be 5 already. How could it be this sweet little baby is already to register for Kindergarten next month.This sweet little baby completes our family! She is full of personality and lets everyone know what is on her mind. Julia knows exactly what she wants. I cannot imagine my life without this precious little girl.

Alabama State Dance Competition

Savannah participated in the Alabama State Dance Competition last Saturday in Bessemer, Alabama. She did a great job in both of her numbers including two great round off backhand springs. Her group got two gold medals and place 4th and 5th. This was our first competition so I am sure the next few years will be nothing but improvement.

Training Day Begins Sunday

I read lots of blog and love to link to other blogs from some of my favorites. Well, I found this great blog Simple Thoughts! The author of the blog writes about simple everyday occurrences in her family's lives and gives insight to moms with daughters. A few weeks ago she had a post about running the Vera Bradley Half Marathon. I showed it to Trey and we decided we would begin training for the very same half as soon as we returned from Vegas. I am determined that we are going to do this. I need to loose a lot of weight and get in better shape. Trey doesn't really need to loose that much weight, but he says he needs to get into shape. We have told so many people that we are doing this event that there is no way we can back out now. I think I have rounded up some friends in Winfield to run with us and I think Trey may have talked to his boss about running with us as well. So here goes my next year of fitness training and running. Wish us luck! I am going to need lots of encouragement along the way, so please send it! I know we can do it as we are placing our training in God's hands. As Luke wrote in Acts 20:24 "however, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the tast the Lord Jesus has given to me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." I will be by God's absolute grace that I finish this race, but I am determined!

Vegas Baby

Trey had a trip to Vegas scheduled for work to attend the ConAgg show, so I tagged along with him for a few days. We left late Friday night so we would have a full day on Saturday to see the sights. Friday night we stayed at the Embassy Suites, but on Saturday we moved to the MGM Signature. MGM Signature is awesome! Great suites with very comfortable beds. We had a great view of the pool, but because the weather was so yuck there was not much scenery at the pool. Saturday we spent most of the day walking around and looking at some of the different hotels and casinos. I love the different architecture in Vegas. While we were getting ready for dinner, some of Trey's friends from Milwaukee called and asked us to dinner. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Lakeside Grill at the Wynn Hotel. I had a filet with truffle macaroni and cheese. That was the best mac and cheese I have ever put in my mouth! During the meal different shows were performed on the water. The first show was a large inflatable frog that came out from the top of the waterfall. The frog sang and danced to a song. I was just as entertained by watching Trey and 2 of his coworkers pull their phones out and video the show. After a fabulous dinner, Trey and I went to see La Reve! Awesome show that I recommend for anyone going to Vegas. My kids would have loved it as well. After the show we headed back to our room, but stopped by the Eifell Tower at Paris for a look over the strip. Trey does not like heights so this was not his favorite thing to do, but the views were fabulous.

Sunday, Trey and I spent most of the day just walking around again. We had brunch at the Sugar Factory! Oh my, what a great place to eat. I had Belgian Waffles topped with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and melted white chocolate. Wow, is all I can say about that meal. We continued our tour of the different hotels and rode the gondolas at the Venetian after brunch, but had to go back early to get ready for a dinner with Trey's customers. For dinner we ate at Emerills at the MGM. I had Mahi Mahi with garlic mashed potatoes. It was really good, but the best part was of course the dessert. My favorite Creme Brulee!!! AWESOME! After dinner we had a late night of entertaining customers at the Piano Bar at New York New York! Fun times, but I really found out how old I was when I woke up the next morning.

Monday, Trey and I completed our tour of the different hotels today. We had lunch at Serendipity III. It was pretty good, but not my favorite place. We did have one of their famous frozen hot chocolate. It was good. For dinner we ate at Galaghers at New York New York with customers. It was a great steak place, but my steak was way too big. We ended the night with a few drinks with Trey's boss and ran into a few people from Milwaukee we had not seen in a while. I flew home on Tuesday by myself and Trey will be home Thursday. He is working hard I'm sure at all the special dinners and breakfasts he is having with customers the next few days. He loves his new job and I am so happy! He is getting to do lots of great new things and is truly excited about working. The trip was wonderful and I hope I get to go back to Vegas in '12 when Trey goes for MineExpo!

Famous Alabamian

Savannah had to do a project for Alabama History on a Famous Alabamian. Savannah choose to do her project on Micheal Spann. Micheal was a great American and what an honor to say that he is not only from Alabama but also from Winfield. Micheal was a very special person to my family as we grew up across the street from each other and his youngest sister was one of my best friends in the world. Savannah learned so much doing this project and loves to tell Jack and Julia about Micheal.

Savannah is 10

I cannot believe my sweet Savannah is 10. It seems like she should still be a baby. Wow has time has flied.

Savannah's birthday celebration was spread over a few weekends this year. First we had a dinner with Grandma and Granddaddy, Kelly, Chris and Noah in Columbus at the Grill.

The following day Nana cooked lunch for Savannah and made her a great birthday cake.

The next Saturday we had a surprise birthday party for Savannah at Huatulco. She was very excited to see all of her friends. I can't bleive we actually suprised her.

Valentine Boxes

Why do schools insist on students making Valentine boxes at home? I remember when I was in elementary school we just decorated a white lunch sack and everyone was super excited about what the classmates brought. Now teachers have the students decorate boxes at home and it seems to be a big competition as to who's parent is the most creative. I am not a creative person. I was though happy with the results this year. Julia had a purse, Savannah had a piano and Jack had a baseball field. I didn't get a pictures of Jack's baseball field.

Jack's First Deer

Jack went hunting with Pop on the last day of hunting season! He was so excited about spending the day with Pop, but when we made the shot and killed a deer he was extra excited. He thought he had shot at a 4 point but when they found the deer it was a 6 point.

MSU Baseball Camp

Jack and Trey went to the father son baseball camp at Mississippi State University a few weeks ago. Jack was so excited to go into the Palmeiro Center and play baseball at Dudy Noble! He was especially excited about taking a Bama friend to show off Mississippi State to. The camp was an overnight camp and they got to camp out in the Palmeiro Center. So glad Trey and Jack got to spend the weekend together doing something they both enjoy!

The 100th day of school at Winfield Elementary was Monday, January 24. The kids were able to wear hats to school. They could wear funny hats or just a hat of their choosing. Savannah wore a glittery top hat and Jack wore his Breckenridge hat.

I did not have to work today so I got to spend the afternoon with Julia alone. We cooked lunch, did laundry and played with Julia's new Snow White puzzle. She was so excited that she was able to complete the puzzle by herself on the first try. While she was putting her puzzle together I was able to play with my camera and then edit the pictures on my computer.

with my NOOK Color! I had fought the e-reader for a while saying I like to hold a paper book and turn the pages. Or I can't justify buying another peice of technology just for reading a book. Well, anyway after watching many people on our flight to Colorado and trips out of town trying to read a book with the light of my cellphone with Trey telling me you need an e-reader, I decided to give in and get one with my Christmas money. I love it! I decided on the NOOK Color over the others because I could get other apps for it, download magazines and newspapers and also it reads children's books to Julia. It is wonderful! The only downfall to it is that it is way too convenient now to get the latest book that is out.

Basketball

Savannah and Jack are both playing basketball this year. We have had two Saturdays filled with basketball. Savannah is one of the younger girls on her team so she doesn't get a lot of playing time, but she loves it. Jack's league still plays everyone an equal amount.

SNOW DAY

We are now on snow day number 3. I'm very sick of snow and cold and ready to go back to work!. I thought we had seen our snow for the year in Breckenridge (where snow belongs) but it invaded Alabama. The kids have had a great time sledding, having snowball fights and building a snowman. It has been great to be trapped at home and not being able to go anywhere though.

The Sunday we left for Breckenridge, Jack accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior. We were so excited with his decision. Last Sunday, Jack was baptized. He was so excited to have everyone at church to celebrate with him. My family all lives in Winfield where we do and all go to the same church, but Trey's parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew all came to see Jack being baptized.

Breckenridge

We all got a skiing trip to Breckenridge for Christmas this year. The kids were super excited about flying on an airplane as much as they were about going skiing. I was very nervous about skiing. We left from Atlanta on Monday, December 27th bright and early. I didn't even have to fuss with the kids about getting up so early because they were so excited. We got to Breckenridge around lunch and headed to our condo.

Tuesday, December 28th, we all went to skii school at Beaver Run. Savannah and Jack were together in their class. Trey and I were together. Julia was in the 4 year old class. Julia and I didn't fair as well as everyone else in ski school. I was great until we started up the lift and altitude sickness set in. I couldn't even stand up on my skis for very long without falling over. Thank goodness for a wonderful ski instructor who helped me down the mountain. Trey and I didn't finish our complete lesson because I was so sick. While we were trying to eat lunch, Julia's ski school called up to tell us that she had fallen asleep. She too only skied in the morning, but we were assured that she was ready to go up the mountain and ski with us. Savannah and Jack loved ski school. Treywas able to watch them come down the mountain with their ski instructor on their last run.

Wednesday we all headed up the mountain ready to ski. I was feeling so much better and Julia was ready to ski again. We headed up the ski lift and everyone was doing great! When we got to the top everyone did great getting off the lift and headed down the mountain. Julia started going really fast and we yelled for her to slow down. She didn't slow down, she laid down and began waving to the people on the lift going above her. She would not stand up again on her skis, so Julia and I had to walk down the mountain. NOT FUN!!! At one time while walking down the mountain, Julia said she wished she was in the Bahamas. ME TOO! Savannah and Jack skied with Trey and Julia and I played in the snow. She was much happier and so was mama.

Thursday the kids skied a good bit with Trey. Julia and I played in the snow.

Friday we skied some, but it was so cold we went in early. We decided to go out for lunch at Mi Casa. It was a wonderful Mexican place. We returned our ski equipment and went back to the warmeth of the condo.

Saturday, was game day! We all got decked out in our Mississippi State gear and headed over to Eric's Downstairs to watch the game on the big screen. It was not a waste of time either. The Bulldogs demolished the Wolverines. It was a great day to be a Bulldog! Trey got sick with his kidney stones again during the game, so we had to go back to the condo shortly after a few stops of shopping after the game. He did get to felling better later in the afternoon so we headed out to go to Crapes a La Cart and Starbucks! The crapes there are to die for.

Sunday we headed back to Denver for our flight home. We had a great vacation and enjoyed getting to do something new. I hope next time we go Julia will be ready to ski!

Happy 2011

2011 has started off wonderfully. We are on vacation in beautiful Breckenridge, CO. It is around -10 degrees here today. We spent the morning watching the Bulldogs defeat Michigan in the Gator Bowl and plan to spend the evening indoors watching more football. We have to get one more crape from Crapes a la Cart before leaving Breckenridge, so I'm sure we will venture out again later.

2010 was full of wonderful events.

Savannah and Jack both accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Savannah turned 9
Jack turned 8
Julia turned 4
We have traveled to New Orleans, Myrtle Beach and Breckenridge.
Jack made All Stars in baseball and his team won the District Tournament
Savannah and Jack both ended the 2009-2010 school year with straight A's.

In 2011, I want to achieve many things. I am starting a list here, but I am sure there will be many more.

Christmas Day 2010

Santa definitely thought Savannah, Jack and Julia were a very good boy and girls this year. Each one of the kids got a trip to Breckenridge and a new scooter. Savannah got a new digital camera, Jack got a new Wii game and some new tennis shoes and Julia got a doll pram and a horse for her dolls. The kids were very excited with their prices from Santa. Mommy and Daddy got Savannah and Jack new jackets and some clothes. Julia got a new piggy bank, clothes and a necklace from Mommy and Daddy. Nana and Pop came over early in the morning to see what Santa brought the kids followed by Grandma and Granddaddy.

Around lunch, we headed over to Nana and Pop's house for Christmas with my family. The kids got more goodies from Nana and Pop and Rhonda and Tommy. Savannah got a new pair of boots from Nana and Pop and a new Vera Bradley lunchbox and perfume from the Bowens. Jack got a new Wii game from Nana and Pop and a Polo sweater from the Bowens. Julia got a beauty shop chair for her doll from Nana and Pop and a smocked outfit from the Bowens. We all got money from Nana and Pop as well.

Later in the afternoon, Mama Tommie and Benny and Belinda's family all came over to mom and dads. After a great traditional Christmas lunch of Dressing, Turkey, Ham and all the fixings to go along, the kids all opened more gifts from Benny and Belinda and Mama Tommie. Mama Tommie gave us all money. Benny and Belinda got the kids a bag full of goodies. Savannah got a new watch and a necklace. Julia got a piggy bank and a necklace. Jack got a piggy bank and stainless water bottle.

Christmas was great and the kids are very spoiled once again!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a very busy day this year. We had to push somethings that have been planned for earlier into the week into Christmas Eve because we spent so much time at doctor's offices with Trey's kidney stones. Before you all ask, yes he still has the stones, but the medicine he is taking is keeping him comfortable. The doctors decided not to blast the stone until we get home from Breckenridge if he still has the stones.

Anyway we started the morning off with breakfast with our favorite teenager, Caroline Newman. Caroline is like a daughter that just doesn't live with us. Although Jack says she is his girlfriend. The kids exchanged gifts with Caroline. Jack got a new Nerf gun, Savannah got a new game and Julia got some makeup. We love Caroline and are so thankful God brought her into our lives.

After breakfast with Caroline, we headed home to pack up the gifts for Trey's parents and sister's family and headed to Amory. The kids had a great time opening gifts from Kelly and Grandma and Granddaddy. Savannah got some new clothes and a stocking of goodies; Jack got a new Wii game and a stocking of goodies; and Julia got the Disney Princesses Barbi Dolls and a stocking of goodies from Grandmama and Granddaddy. Trey got a new coffe maker, money and a stocking of goodies and I got a new pair of boots, money and a stocking of goodies. From Kelly we all got tshirts that show that the money to get the tshirt was donated to feed the hungry. From Kelly, Jack also got a Mitch Mooreland autographed baseball, Julia got a new dress and Savannah got something awesome that she can't remember at the time being. We had a great late lunch of shrimp bisque, crawfish bisque and red beans and rice. We ended the celebration at the Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at Kelly's and Chris's church. We ate dinner of left overs from lunch and headed home to prepare for Santa.

When we got home, Savannah and Jack got the cookies and Diet Pepsi (Santa gets tired of milk) and spread the reindeer food. Julia fell asleep on the way home from Amory and didn't wake up to get all the stuff ready for Santa. Savannah and Jack were then ready to go to sleep in hopes that Santa would stop at our house.

Christmas with the Mikell Family 2010

Last weekend we went to Meridian for Christmas with the Mikell family. We had a great time visiting with Trey's Grandmama, Betty, Ricky, Kimberly, Tim and Lyla. Matthew, Kelly and Addison did not make it down for Christmas this year. Savannah and Julia loved playing with Lyla. Julia thinks she is a big girl when Lyla is around.

Jingle Bell Road Race

Savannah and Jack ran in the Jingle Bell Race in Meridian last Saturday. I was so proud of them. They both finished in the top ten with Jack's time being 8:55 and Savannah's 9:16. They did a great job for their first race. Savannah would have finished a little sooner, but she wiped out somewhere on the course.

Thursday, December 16th the girls had their annual Christmas parties and performance at dance. The girls danced beautifully and had a wonderful time. Julia was super excited because she got to be part of the big girls dance again. Santa was also there to take the girl's Christmas wishes. Well Julia said, "Mrs. Christy's husband is one of Santa's helpers because he was dressed up like Santa."

Preschool Christmas Program

Julia's Christmas Program for school was last night. Julia was the most precious elf you have ever seen. She is such a little ham and loves being in the spotlight. She sang, did all the motions and said her part in the microphone so clearly. The only thing she was upset about was that someone else got to be Mary with her best friend Blake.
